Dean - 50th
Mr. and Mrs. Phil Dean of Monroe City celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 2, 2002.
Family and friends joined them for dinner on May 3 at Fiddlestiks Restaurant in Hannibal.
Following dinner, cake and punch were served at their home.
Carol Sue Armstrong and Phillip Ray Dean were united in marriage on May 2, 1952, at the home of the Rev. John Golden in Hannibal.
A reception was at the home of Jack and Bernice Dean in Monroe City.
Attendants were Mildred Armstrong Kelly of Keokuk, Iowa and Fred Heitmeyer of Paris.
Mrs. Dean is the daughter of Vella Dee Armstrong and the late Nelson Armstrong. Mr. Dean is the son of the late Jack and Bernice Dean.
They are the parents of one daughter, Becky Chinn; and two sons, Jackie Dean and the late Reggie Dean.
They have six granddaughters, Heather Wheeler of Paris, Brooke and Brittany Dean, both of Monroe City, and Erika Ogle, Shannon Dean and Michelle Howard, all of Hannibal; one grandson, Heath Chinn of Monroe City; and one great-granddaughter.
Mrs. Dean worked at Seymour Foods in Monroe City, then worked at Pillsbury in Hannibal for 26 years, retiring in 1998.
Mr. Dean barbered in Fulton and Monroe City for 46 years, retiring in 1999.
