Maria Katherine Devitt and McClellan “Mac” Douglas Pyle were married Dec. 9, 2006, in The Church of St. Andrew’s, Newtown, Pa., by Rev. Lange.
The bride is a daughter of Anthony and Donna Devitt III, Newtown.
Parents of the bridegroom are Doug and Lynn Pyle, 1152 Highland Road, Sharon.
Matron of honor was Amy Englert, Richmond, Va. Maid of honor was Mandy Murphy, Philadelphia. Bridesmaids were Cassandra Pyle Nespor, Zelienople, groom’s sister; Gina Scancella, Langhorne, Pa.; Shannon Devitt, Philadelphia, bride’s cousin; Olivia D’Angelo, Tom’s River, N.J., bride’s cousin; and Debbie Kline, Hamilton Square, N.J.
Best man was the groom’s father. Ushers were Michael Cingolani, Redondo Beach, Calif.; Casey Kohut, Willoughby, Ohio; Michael Underwood, Newtown; Michael Scancella, Langhore; Vincent D’Angelo, Philadelphia, bride’s uncle; and Sean Devitt, Newtown, and Anthony Devitt IV, Philadelphia, both bride’s brothers.
Taylor Jones, Redondo Beach, and Emma D’Angelo, Mays Landing, N.J., bride’s cousin, were flower girls. Ricky D’Angelo, Mays Landing, bride’s cousin, was ring bearer.
Rev. Deborah L. Evanovich, Bethel Park, Pa., groom’s godmother, and Julie Devitt, Philadelphia, bride’s godmother, were wedding participants.
A reception was held at Northampton Country Club, Richboro.
After a honeymoon to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, the newlyweds live in Langhorne.
Mrs. Pyle graduated in 1998 from Council Rock High School, Newtown, and in 2002 from Pennsylvania State University, University Park, with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education. She is pursuing a master’s degree in school counseling from Ryder University in New Jersey. She is a world history teacher for West Winsor-Plainsboro Community Middle School, Plainsboro, N.J.
Her husband graduated in 1998 from Sharon High School and in 2002 from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a minor in alternative education; he holds special education certification from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. He is a learning support teacher for Roberto Clemente Middle School, Philadelphia.
