Carraway-Root
Engagement Announced.
Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Cannon Root of Louisville, Ky., announce the approaching marriage of their daughter, Lucile Adele to William Marion Carraway of Charlotte, to take place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Torrence, near Huntersville, on the evening of June 4.
Miss Root is well-known in Charlotte, where she spends much time with her grandmother, Mrs. Orlando Root, and is a girl of a most delightful personality. She received her education in the Louisville high school and in the Cedar Grove Seminary in the same city.
Mr. Carraway is the eldest son of Mr. anc;1 Mrs. Leake Carraway of this city, and is cashier of the main office of the Western Union Telegraph Company. He attended the Charlotte city schools and the Charlotte University school, graduating from the latter in 1917.
Immediately after the ceremony they will leave for a visit to northern cities, including Washington, Philadelphia and New York, and will return by sea to Norfolk, thence by Richmond, Va., back to Charlotte.
They will be at home at No. 3 Bromley Road, Myers Park, after June 15, taking the home of Mr. Carraway's father, who goes to Norfolk on that date.
