Miss Ruth Slaten, daughter of Mrs. Mattie J. Slaten of Blockton, Iowa was married June 3rd [1951] to Marvin McMorran in the Bedford Baptist church, Bedford, Iowa.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry McMorran of Corning, Iowa.
Rev. Cowels of Bedford read the double-ring service.
Mrs. Richard Sinten accompanied Miss Norma Boyd who sang "Because."
The "Lord's Prayer" was sung as they knelt at the altar following the ceremony.
The church was decorated with tall baskets of pink and white peonies.
The bride was gowned in white satin, fashioned with a gored skirt and a aisle wide train.
The scalloped yoke and sleeves were of nylon lace and her sleeves came to a point over her hands.
Her fingertip illusion veil was edged in lace and was fastened to a white satin cap.
Her only jewelry was a double strand of pearls, a gift of the groom.
She carried a white Bible, which was topped with a spray of pink roses.
White candles were lighted by Gene and Joyce Dixon, twin cousins of the groom.
