Basia Dziewanowski weds Steve Alban May 25
Basia Dziewanowski and Steve Alban were married in a ceremony on May 25 at chez Gilmans in East Orleans on Cape Cod.
Besides being their wedding, Dziewanowski and Alban were acknowledging Ada and Kamil Dziewanowskis' 50th wedding anniversary. In true Polish fashion they partied in high style for three days to the accompaniment of wonderful music, with close family and friends.
Friday evening there were bachelorette "wieczor panienski" and bachelor "wieczor kawalerski" parties. Sunday afternoon there were daylong festivities with the ceremony at 4 p.m., followed by partying until Monday (chez Gilmans). Polish and Russian interpreters were provided during the ceremony, videotaped for Basia's Ph.D. thesis, the theme of which is contemporary Polish folk dress from Zakopane (Tatra Mountains), Poland.
The newest addition to the family, Steven/Stevie/Stefan/Stefanek/Stefcio Nicholas Green-Dziewanowski (nee Sept. 25, 1994) made his first public appearance.
Live music and entertainment was presented by Tatra Mountaineer "Gorale" band; a Klezmer band; international folk, plus an exceptional array of recorded music from folk to contemporary from Steve and Jas' collections. Basia and Regina Laskowski's children's group made its public debut.
