Pfaff - Howland
Darlene Joi Howland and Stephen Charles Pfaff were married on Oct. 12, 1996, in the Lorimer Chapel of their alma mater, Colby College, Waterville, Maine. A reception at the Millett Alumni House followed the wedding ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Barbara and George Howland of Wellesley, and the groom is the son of Ann and Norman Pfaff of Beverly.
The Rev. John Schule, godfather of the bride, officiated at the ceremony. Special readings were offered by Mary Ann Pfaff Becket, sister of the groom; Joseph Daisy and Douglas Louison. The music was provided by Brian Rehrig with Nancy Tutunjan as soloist.
Barbara Howland, mother of the bride, served as the matron of honor; and Gary Pfaff, brother of the groom, served as the best man. Daniel Becket, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer.
Given in marriage by her mother and father, the bride wore an off-the-shoulder floor-length sheath of ivory rose brocade with a two-tier ribbon-edged veil that fell from three brocade roses. She carried a cascading bouquet of champagne roses and ivy.
After a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple are residing in Wellesley. The bride is the Early Childhood Program Director at the Wellesley Community Children's Center, and the groom is an attorney in Boston.
