Wilson - 50th
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wilson of Hannibal will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a party hosted by their children beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2004, at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center in Hannibal.
Tom Wilson and Gwenda Louise Billings were united in marriage at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 1954, at the home of the Rev. John W. Golden.
Attendants were Patty Jo Billings, sister-in-law of the bride, and William B. (Bud) Wilson, brother of the bridegroom.
Mrs. Wilson is the daughter of the late George and Myrl Billings.
Mr. Wilson is the son of the late Benny and Genevieve Wilson.
They are the parents of five children, David A. Wilson and wife, Peggy, of Greenwell Springs, La., Thomas W. (Wayne) Wilson and wife, Mary, and Steve D. Wilson and wife, Pam, both of Hannibal, Kathy L. Kendrick and husband, Dan, of New Canton, Ill., and Les E. Wilson and wife, Angel, of O'Fallon.
They have 10 grandsons, one granddaughter, three step grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.
Mr. Wilson retired in 1991, after 36 years as a meat-cutter.
Mrs. Wilson is a homemaker.
They were both involved in Scouting for many years.
Mr. Wilson is a member of the POPS Club and the Good Fellows Club of Hannibal.
Mrs. Wilson is treasurer of the social sorority Beta Sigma Phi, Delta Chi chapter and treasurer of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 2446.
