Mr. and Mrs. Paul Adams
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Leon Adams, Bettendorf, were honored at a family dinner on Dec. 13, 2001 to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. They reaffirmed their vows on April 21, 1998.
Paul Leon Adams of Columbus, Miss., met Stella Darlene Schmiers of Moline, at a dance at the Coliseum Ballroom in Sept. of 1951. They married on the 13th of Dec. that year before Paul left to attend boot camp at MCRD in San Diego, Calif. After Mr. Adams’ tour of duty in the Marine Corps they returned to Bettendorf to work and raise their four children.
Mr. Adams was employed by Oscar Mayer, Davenport, retiring in 1990 after 36 years.
His wife was employed as a cosmotologist in Davenport, retiring in 1984 after 14 years.
They are members of St. John Vienny Church, Bettendorf. The couple enjoys traveling around the United States in their mobile home, fishing, and their family.
Their children and their spouses are Paul and Beverly Adams, Bettendorf; Robert and Sheryl Valleroy, Stockton, Iowa; Marsha Hesse and Warren Oxley, LeClaire, Iowa; Matthew and Kimberly Adams, Indianola, Iowa; and Dena Welch, Rushville, Ill.
Their grandchildren are Brian and Julia Valleroy; Kristoffer and Bridget Valleroy; Scott Valleroy; Justin Hesse; Jeff Hesse; Kathryn Oxley; Nicole Adams; Lynette Adams; and Paul Adams.
