Brooks-Matlock
Rachel Ann Brooks, San Jose, Calif., and James Adam S. Matlock, San Jose, were married Sept. 8 at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Blue Grass, by Deacon Donald Frericks. The reception was held at Jumer’s Castle Lodge, Bettendorf.
Their parents are Michael and Rose Brooks, Davenport; and James and Judith Matlock, Blue Grass, Iowa.
Their grandparents are Jeanne McNabb, Davenport, and the late Hazel Brooks; and Eleanor Matlock, Greenwood, Ind.
Their attendants were Jennifer M. Brooks, sister of the bride, maid of honor; Brent G. Johnson, best friend of the groom, best man; Tara M. Christman, Chandra Harris-Fields and Angela Denney, bride’s attendants; Aaron Matlock, Brian Matlock and Geoffrey Matlock, groom’s attendants; Andrew Everson, 6, flower girl; Ryan McNabb, 10, ring bearer. Ushers were Roland M. Brooks, brother of the bride, and Ryan D. Redman and Andrew Offerburger. Assistant users were Colin McNabb and Robert Everson, who also served as reception attendants. The users served as the candlelighters.
The wedding ceremony had a candlelight romance theme. The couple choose burgandy and silver as their colors. Their floral selection consisted of white roses and ivory peace lilies. The bride wore an A-line princess cut, off the shoulders, beaded design button down back dress and a beaded train. The bride’s attendants wore garnet colored, sleeveless A-line flowing skirts made of chiffon.
Readers were Nicole Matlock, Ryan Redman, Marla Phelps and Andrew Offenburger. Musicians were Doris Borgeson, piano, Matt Norman, guitar, Jennifer Brooks, flute, and Tara Christman, vocal.
During the ceremony, Ave Maria was performed by Tara Christman and Matthew Norman and Grow Old With You was performed by Adam Matlock and Matthew Norman. Jennifer Brooks performed Was Mir Behagt,Ist Nur De Muntre Jagd.
The bride graduated from Davenport West High School and Kansas City (Kansas) Community College with an associate’s degree in exercise science. She is employed by Radiate Inc., Mountain View, Calif.
Her husband graduated from Davenport West High School and Buena Vista University, Storm Lake, Iowa, with bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and finance and banking. He is employed by Montgomery Financial Services Corp., San Mateo, Calif.
After a wedding to Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Diego, Calif., the couple resides in San Jose.
