Dr. Edeker says, "Having commissioned a unique ring, I wanted a unique place to ask Vanessa to marry me. So, with no set plan in mind, I flew her to Prague Czech Republic for a vacation last July. It was an incredibly romantic city, with Renaissance Cathedrals, medieval squares, fantastic restaurants and scenic bridges over the beautiful Elbe River. I was incredibly nervous trying to find the right time and place. After coming close a couple of times, and not finding the moment to be right, we climbed to the top of the North Gate Tower of the king Charles Bridge overlooking the city and that beautiful Elbe River. I knew that the time was right.
The day was beautiful, the scene was right, the setting was right, the woman was right. It was then that I asked her to be my wife. She made the day perfect by saying ‘Yes’."
The couple will be married in July 2000 at Temple Baptist Church, Davenport, with a reception at the Delta Sigma Chi Mansion.
