Theodore "Ted" and Shirley Karrer, Sioux City, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 5.
A family dinner is planned for a later date.
Their children are Ronald and his wife Julie, and Dennis and his wife Jana, all of rural Lawton, Iowa, Arthur and his wife Brenda of Camarillo, Calif., and Sharon and her husband Robin of Flagstaff, Ariz.
The couple have nine grandchildren.
Mr. Karrer and the former Shirley Asay were married Feb. 5, 1949, in Sioux City.
Mr. and Mrs. Karrer were engaged in farming east of Sioux City for 40 years.
They retired and moved to Sioux City in 1989.
