Frances Kay Buchanan and Edward Charles Pride were married at 2 p.m. Nov. 14, 1998, at Spruce Street United Methodist Church in Morgantown with the Rev. Dr. Roger L. Smith officiating.
The bride is a daughter of Ronald and Sandra Buchanan of Fairmont. She is a graduate of East Fairmont High School and of Fairmont State College. She is employed at Monongalia General Hospital.
The bridegroom is a son of Plummer and Eleanor Pride of Westover. He is a graduate of Morgantown High School and of WVU. He is employed at Sears.
Escorted by her father the bride wore a formal gown of ivory satin featuring a portrait neckline and princess styling. The bodice was covered with pearls, sequins and satin rosebuds that flowed over the princess waistline onto the full skirt and cathedra l-length train. The fingertip-length veil fell from a tiara of pearls, crystals and sequins that matched the gown.
Honor attendant was Della Paknik of Fairmont. Bridesmaids were Anna Buchanan, sister-in-law of the bride, of Charlottesville, Va; Robin Dugan, aunt of the bride, of Morgantown; and Mary Beth George of Reedsville. Flower girls were Casey Buchanan and Mary Buchanan, cousins of the bride, both of Pittsburgh.
Best man was William George of Reedsville. Groomsmen were Ronald Buchanan, brother of the bride, of Charlottesville; David Pride, brother of the bridegroom, of Westlake, Ohio; and Joshua Devor, nephew of the bridegroom, of Morgantown.
Guest book attendant was Judy Devor, sister of the bridegroom, of Morgantown. Greeters were Stephanie Shine and Katie Jackson, cousins of the bride, both of Morgantown. Wedding coordinator was Barbara Buchanan, aunt of the bride, of Pittsburgh.
A reception was held at the Pines Country Club in Morgantown.
Following a wedding trip to Seneca Rocks and Smoke Hole area, the couple lives in Fairmont.
