Rachael Rebecca Smith and David Lee Lewis were united in marriage before God, family, and friends on September 14th, 2002, at United Family Fellowship by Reverend Robert Plank. The themes of the ceremony were that of a Medieval and Celtic atmosphere.
The bride's parents are Becky Palmer of Webb City and Sid Smith, of Galesburg, Mo. Grandparents are Dale Wright and Hazel Wright, of Carterville. Parent of the groom are La Dessa Lewis, of Miller, Mo. and the late Roy Weldon Lewis.
Becky Palmer the bride's mother, served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were Margaritta Ratliff and Megan Burdick. The bride's escorts were her grandparents, Dale and Hazel Wright. Candles were lit by the mothers of the bride and groom. Savannah Pinnell, niece of the groom, served as flower girl.
James Lewis, the grooms brother, served as Best Man. Skyler Pinnell, nephew of the groom, and Doug Tanner, and groomsmen. The groom's nephew, Seth Pinnell, served as ring bearer.
Guest book attendants included Patti Pinnell and Kathy Wilkins both sisters of the groom. Ushers were Jerry Williams, uncle of the bride, and Ed Burdick. Vicki Burdick served as the gift table attendant.
Cake and punch were served in the church by Janie Williams, aunt of the bride, Tasha Howard, Tonya Lancaster, both nieces of the groom, and Marilyn Lamp. A dinner and dance followed.
Following a honeymoon in South Padre Island in Texas the couple will reside in Joplin.
