Wedding – Blauch-Regula
Kara Sue Blauch and Derrick Gustav Regula were married Aug. 23, 2008, in Zion United Church of Christ at Baltic, Ohio. Rev. Sharon Jacobsen officiated at the 4:30 p.m., double-ring ceremony for which Winifred Huprich of Berlin, Ohio, was organist.
Kara is the daughter of Mark and Tamara Blauch of Sugarcreek, Ohio. Derrick is the son of Gustav and Kathy Regula of Fresno, Ohio.
The bride wore a white organza trimmed with Duchess satin gown that featured an embroidered and beaded overlay of the strapless bodice, and an asymmetrical satin draping which hugged the hips and gathered at the side. The A-line skirt featured peaked embroidery and beadwork on flowing organza with a satin band edging the hemline onto the chapel-length train. The bride also wore the diamond wedding rings of her late grandmother, Theresa Blauch.
Julie Crilow of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Randi Stein of Sugarcreek, Tina Gibson of Coshocton, Ohio, Amy Miller of Baltic, and Tara Ward of Canton, O., friends of the bride. Junior bridesmaids were Olivia Shell of Sugarcreek, cousin of the bride, and Kallie Regula of Fresno, niece of the groom.
John Regula of Fresno, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Troy Regula of Fresno, brother of the groom; Trent Blauch of Sugarcreek, brother of the bride; Mitch Blosser of Baltic and John Hisrich of New Philadelphia, friends of the groom. Junior groomsman was Ian Shell of Sugarcreek, cousin of the bride.
Isabelle Tetreault of Baltic, friend of the bride and groom, was flower girl. Logan Lorenz of Baltic, friend of the bride and groom, was ringbearer.
Guestbook and program attendant was Jenna Waidelich of Sugarcreek, friend of the bride and groom. Michelle Regula of Fresno, sister-in-law of the groom, and Brandi Fanning of Sugarcreek, friend of the bride and groom, handed out live butterflies for guests to release.
The reception was held in Sweet Basil in Sugarcreek.
Gustav and Kathy Regula, parents of the groom, hosted a rehearsal dinner in the Carlisle Inn at Walnut Creek on Aug. 22, 2008.
Kara is a 2001 graduate of Garaway High School. She is employed at Pomerene Hospital Laboratory in Millersburg, Ohio.
Derrick, a 2000 graduate of Garaway High School, is employed at Andreas Farms in Sugarcreek. He also is a firefighter and first responder for Baltic Fire & Rescue and Bakersville Volunteer Fire Department.
The couple honeymooned at Daytona Beach, Fla., and Myrtle Beach, S.C., and are residing at Fresno, Ohio.
