Marriage vows exchanged Sept. 12
Megan Roper and Paul Newby were married at 5:00 p.m. September 12, 1998, at the United Methodist Church, Forest City, with the Reverends Wendy Trone and Gary Marzolf officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Andy and Diane Roper of Leland.
The groom is the son of Tim and Sandra Newby of Forest City.
Angie Schmidt was the maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jessica Folkerts, Shawna Rolands and Stacey Schmidt.
Samantha Schmidt, Laura Hopkins and Sarah Eagle were the bride’s personal attendants.
Eric Newby was the best man. Groomsmen were Chad Gentz, Steve Smith and Colby Roper.
Miranda Smith was the flower girl.
Alex Hopkins was the ring bearer.
Ushers were Andy Grunhovd, Matt Hauan and Travis Hopkins.
Music was provided by organist Nancy Farndale and vocalists Brian Hoing, Tammy Hauan and Gabe Talamantes.
Nancy Hoing and Adele Roper were the guest book attendants and Susan Hoing and Laura Newby were gift attendants.
A reception was held in the United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall following the ceremony.
Hosts and hostesses were Doug and Donna Peterson and Tom and Sue Burlingame.
A wedding dance was held at the Super Bowl in Forest City.
The bride is a graduate of North Iowa High School and attended NIACC and Buena Vista University.
She currently is employed at Larson Manufacturing in Lake Mills.
The groom is a graduate of Forest City High School and NIACC.
He is employed in the customer service department of Winnebago Industries.
Following a honeymoon in Minneapolis, the couple is at home in rural Leland.
