Wedding Announcement

Christina Renee' Braswell-Whitescarver and Travis Scott Williams

Christina Renee' Braswell-Whitescarver and Travis Scott Williams were married at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 8 (2002) at the First Baptist Church in Jasper; Tim Edgmon and Larry Williams officiated.

Parents of the bride are Jimmie and Deanne Whitescarver of Valley Springs.

She is the granddaughter of Earl and Vivian Braswell of Jasper and Larry and Shirley Childs of Olvey and Jim and Diane Whitescarver of Flippin and John and Linda Reed of Santa Barbara, Calif.

Parents of the groom are Ricky and Linda Williams of Pelsor.

He is the grandson of Thomas and Maxine Sexton of Pelsor and Faye Williams of Deer and the late Gus Williams, formerly of Deer and the late Jess and Oma Hampton.

The couple's chosen colors were navy blue and hunter green, with soft ivory daises.

The candle lit sanctuary was decorated with white columns adorned with ferns, ivy, tulle, and mixed flower arrangements.

Music for the ceremony consisted of the processional, "Without Wings" by Corrosion of Conformity, "I Found Love" by Kenny Wayne Shepherd played as the couple lit the unity candle, and "The Wedding March" from a Mid Summers Night Dream played as the recessional.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a soft ivory, satin, two-piece Jaslene gown which featured a corsette style top with delicate flower designs embedded in the bodice.

The skirt was of an A-line design, with a handmade, detachable two foot train.

She wore a handmade veil made of tulle and daises and carried an array of off-white flowers with tulle and soft ivory ribbon.

Attending the bride as matron of honor was Sara Edgmon of Harrison.

Bridesmaid was April Bruhn of Dardenelle.

Flower girl was Laurie Whitescarver of Valley Springs, sister of the bride.

Attending the groom as best man was Trent Williams of Pelsor, brother of the groom.

Groomsman was Phillip Cooper of Deer.

Ringbearer was Jonathan Whitescarver of Valley Springs, brother of the bride. Ushers/candlelighters were Stan Hampton of Harrison, cousin of groom and Josh Reeves of Pelsor.

Guest book attendant was Shelly Hampton of Harrison, cousin of the groom.

Blake Matthews of Jasper provided music for the ceremony.

A reception followed the ceremony in the fellowship hall.

The butter cream, four tiered wedding cake with a basket weave design, was decorated with daises and placed in the "I Do" position, with each level on its own individual clear stand as though they were floating.

Servers were Jessica Braswell of Yellville, sister of the bride, Peggy Hampton of Harrison, aunt of the groom, and Sue Crabb of Deer.

After a honeymoon to Eureka Springs, the couple continue to travel with their company.

Pre-nuptial activities included a bridal shower June 1 at the home of Deanne Whitescarver, mother of the bride.

Marsha Willis, Susie Tennison, Sherry Boen, Peggy Hampton, and Linda Williams, mother of the groom, hosted a wedding shower June 14 at the Deer Community Center; a lingerie party followed.
