1936 Wedding Announcement
Miss Wallace Will Be Wed To E. W. Dible
Miss Isabel Wallace will become the bride of Earl Willis Dible of Berkeley this evening at an 8:30 o'clock candlelight service in the First Methodist Church.
Dr. Newton E. Moats will officiate and Miles Ryan will give his niece in marriage.
Preceding the service, Fred W. Links will sing "I Love You Truly" and "All For You", and Leland Ralph will play several selections on the organ.
The altar is against a background of palm trees, flanked on either side by large urns, holding gladioluses and delphiniums in the pastel shades, and tall white tapers.
Miss Wallace's gown is of heavy white satin, falling into a long train in back. The squared neck forms a slight V in front and is edged by a tiny pleating of starched lace. The sleeves are puffed above the elbows, and tight fitting with a row of satin covered buttons from the elbow to the wrist.
The bride's veil is of cross-barred net, which touches the floor, completely covering the train of her dress. There are inserts of silk lace along the bottom and edges. The veil is caught in a Juliet cap of seed pearls, and a shower boquet of gardenias, lilies-of-the-valley, and bovardias, will complete her bridal costume.
Miss Ethel Riley is to be the maid-of-honor. She will be dressed in blue-green net over taffeta of the same shade, and will carry a down-shower of Talisman roses.
There are to be four bridesmaids, the Misses Frances Ryan, Edith Woodard, Mildred Frost and Mrs. Gene McShane.
Miss Ryan and Miss Woodard will wear yellow net over yellow taffeta and Miss Frost and Mrs. McShane will be in yellow-green net over taffeta. They will each carry shower boquets of coral sweet peas.
Miss Patsy Ruth Nay is the flower girl. She will wear a blue-green net dress, floor length and made on princess lines and will carry a French boquet of mixed flowers.
Leonidas Petersen of Paso Robles will be the best man, and the ushers are Wesley Wallace, brother of the bride, Conrad Wingefield of Berkeley, Glenn Fishback and Harold Richards.
Following the ceremony, there will be a reception at the home of the bride's parents at 2978 Thirty-ninth Street, for relatives and close friends of the couple.
The newlyweds will leave later in the evening for a honeymoon trip to the Yosemite Valley.
Miss Wallace will wear a gray gabardine suit, pink net blouse, grey accessories and a corsage of gardenias and lilies-of-the-valley as her going-away outfit.
Miss Wallace is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Wallace longtime residents of Sacramento. She is a graduate of the Sacramento schools and of the San Jose State College.
While there, she was a member of Kappa Delta Pi, a national education organization. At present, she is teaching in the Sacramento County Schools.
Dible is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E.S. Dible of Santa Cruz. He is a graduate of the University of California and a member of Phi Beta Kappa, national scholarship honor fraternity.
The newly married couple after June 27th will be at home at 2235 Hearst Avenue, Berkeley.
