Charles Robert Smith and Jamie Louise Whitley

Jamie Whitley and Charles Smith to wed December 1 [2007] at Central United Methodist Church in Meridian.

Mrs. Linda Taylor Whitley and Dr. James Sidney Whitley of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Jamie Louise, to Charles Robert Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Harry Smith Jr. of Holly Springs.

The wedding will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007 at 4 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church in Meridian.

Miss Whitley is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noxie Jones Taylor of Jacksonville, Ala. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas James Whitley of Sweet Water, Ala.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Meridian High School and received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Mississippi State University.

While attending MSU, she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority and Campus Crusade for Christ.

Miss Whitley is employed by the Rankin County School District and teaches kindergarten at Rouse Elementary.

Mr. Smith is the grandson of Mrs. Mary Frances Smith of Holly Springs, the late William Harry Smith of Holly Springs and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Henry Work of Potts Camp.

The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Marshall Academy and attended Mississippi State University.

While at MSU, Mr. Smith was a member of Campus Crusade for Christ.

Currently, he is employed by Smith Brother’s Construction.

A reception will be held at Union Station following the ceremony.
