Knighton-Campbell vows said July 21 [2008]
Angela Michelle Campbell and Lance Keith Knighton were united in marriage in a candlelight ceremony at 6 p.m. on July 21, 2007 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Laws Hill.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Doc Billingsley of Waterford and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Campbell of Oxford.
She is the granddaughter of Mrs. George Cook of Waterford and the late Mr. Cook and Mrs. Howard Campbell of Holly Springs and the late Mr. Campbell.
The groom is the son of Stella Knighton of Waterford and Mr. and Mrs. Fort Knighton of Ashland.
He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jodie Knighton of Waterford and Mrs. Henry Joyner of Byhalia and the late Mr. Joyner.
Dr. John Flowers of Senatobia officiated at the double ring ceremony.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of diamond white, matte satin with re-embroidered Alencon lace.
The sleeveless bodice featured a delicate scrolled pattern of pearls and crystal beading, accentuating a scooped, crescent neckline, ending in cascade of satin-covered buttons down the back.
Her princess line skirt flowed into a semi-cathedral train embellished with pearls and iridescent sequins on Alencon lace, which continued around the hemline.
Her shoulder-length veil of diamond white illusion, accented with crystals, fell from a jeweled tiara.
She carried a bouquet of light pink, hand-tied roses.
Jenny Shoffner served as her sister’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jayme Leak and Kelly Reaves.
The bride’s nieces, Marleigh and Anna Lauren Shoffner served as flower girls, with the groom’s nephew, Xavier Knighton, as ring bearer.
The groom’s father, Fort Knighton, served as best man. Groomsmen were Hunter Knighton and Eric Shaw.
Ushers were Howie Campbell, Steven Shoffner and Mark Shaw.
The bridesmaids wore strapless, floor-length, blush pink, satin gowns with green sashes.
They carried tied bouquets of ice pink roses.
The flower girls wore tea-length, white organza with a baby pink sash.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Oak Palace in Holly springs.
On the eve of the wedding, Stella Knighton and Mr. and Mrs. Fort Knighton hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Laws Hill Fish House.
The couple will make their home in Oxford, while the bride completes her degree at the University of Mississippi.
