Lora Thomas to wed Will Jones March 15 [2008]
JONES - THOMAS
The engagement of Lora Thomas, daughter of Jan Thomas and I. Ralph Atticks, to Lieutenant junior grade Will Jones, USN, son of Dr. and Mrs. John H. Jones, is announced.
The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Russell Thomas of Bowie, Md.
Wedding vows will be exchanged at 12 noon on March 15 [2008] at the United States Naval Academy Chapel in Annapolis, Md.
The prospective groom is the grandson of the Rev. and Mrs. William V. Kemp of Holly Springs and DeEtte Jones and the late Powell Jones of Forest.
Miss Thomas is a graduate of Bowie High School in Bowie, Md.
She attended Frostburg State University, where in 2004 she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in information systems.
She is presently working as a network administrator for Prince George’s Community Federal Credit Union in Upper Marlboro, Md.
Lt. j.g. Will Jones is a graduate of Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, Tenn.
After receiving his Naval Academy appointment by (then Representative) Senator Roger Wicker, Will attended the United States Naval Academy, where in 2004 he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics.
In 2005, he graduated from the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, Calif., earning a Master’s of Science degree in applied physics.
On Aug. 10, 2007, Will received his wings as a naval aviator for the United States Navy.
Beginning the summer of 2008, the couple will reside at Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.
