Wedding – Wood-Harding

Missy Wood and Drew Harding were united in marriage on Sept. 6, 2008, in Grace Lutheran Church at Dover. Pastor Jim Lewis officiated at the 4 p.m. double-ring ceremony for which Joe Palmer of New Philadelphia, Ohio, was organist and Micah Reiser of Leesburg, Va., a friend of the bride, was vocalist, singing during the lighting of the unity candle.

Missy is the daughter of Larry and Peg Wood of New Philadelphia. Drew is the son of Dean and Jo Harding of New Philadelphia.

The bride wore a satin two-toned, halter neckline gown decorated with embroidery and beading and chapel-length train. The back of the dress was a tie-back corset which met a full panel of brown-colored detailing down the back of the dress. The bottom hemline of the dress also was trimmed with a brown satin band.

Natalie Riggs of New Albany, Ohio, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Beth Brown and Jaclyn Bercaw of New Philadelphia, O., cousins of the bride; Deaydra Scott of New Philadelphia, O., friend of the bride; and Karley Bitikofer of Uhrichsville, Ohio, niece of the bride.

Evan Brown of Stone Creek, Ohio, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Jimmy Hawk of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Bj Brown of Dover, Ohio, and Jacob Brown of Mineral City, Ohio, friends of the groom, and Bob Bitikofer of New Philadelphia, Ohio, brother of bride.

Flower girls were Brooke Brown and Sutton Bercaw, cousins of the bride, and ring bearer was Christopher Harding, nephew of the groom. All are from New Philadelphia, Ohio.

Guestbook attendant was Darcy Gordon of Dover, Ohio, friend of the bride.

A reception was held at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center. A rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom’s parents was held Sept. 4 at Dutch Valley Restaurant.

The bride, a 1997 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, is a 2005 graduate of National Beauty College at Canton, Ohio, with a managing license in Esthetics. She will be attending Kent State University in the Fall to obtain a degree in elementary education. She currently is employed at Dunham’s Sports as a department manager in New Philadelphia.

The groom is a 1999 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and a 2004 graduate of Owens College. He is currently employed by Metal Masters in Dover, Ohio, and is co-owner of Team Dagger LLC at New Philadelphia, Ohio.

The couple will honeymoon in May at Orlando, Fla. Initial plans to honeymoon in Mexico in September were canceled due to a hurricane. The couple reside at New Philadelphia, Ohio.
