Wedding – Wise-Steffens
Sara Elizabeth Wise and Robert John Steffens IV were married Sept. 13, 2008, at First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia.
Parents of the couple are Richard and Amy Wise of New Philadelphia and Robert III and Sandra Steffens of Spring Hill, Fla.
Pastor Jeffrey Gerber, Rev. Theodore Marszal and Associate Pastor Jill Lovett officiated for the 3:30 p.m. double-ring ceremony. Organist was Rick Michel of Dover. Lindsey and Carrie Johnson performed a beautiful duet of “All I Ask of You.”
The bride wore a strapless A-line gown of diamond white and silver Italian satin hand-beaded with sequins, seed pearls and crystals, and embroidered in a leaf and scroll design with silver accents. The finishing touch was the chapel-length train. Her bouquet contained flowers, a bag of rice and a pendant from her parents’ wedding.
Maid of honor was Kelly Crandall, friend of the bride since childhood, and matron of honor was Amie Lynn, friend of the bride since the 8th grade. Bridesmaids were Brittany Baker, college roommate and sorority sister of the bride, and Cheryl Fischer and Katie Wheeler, sorority sisters and friends of the bride.
John Peters, uncle of the groom, served as best man. Escorts were Joshua Wells, friend of the groom since childhood; Anthony Crandall, second cousin of the groom; and Ryan Wise, brother of the bride.
Andrew Wise, cousin of the bride, and Johnny Peters, cousin of the groom, were ringbearers.
Other participants were Steven Flint, cousin of the bride, who was an usher; Theresa Racz and Andrea Peters, aunts of the groom, readers; Julie Flint, cousin of the bride, guestbook and program attendant; and Seth and Cole Crandall and Katie Gilgen, who passed out bubbles after the ceremony.
A reception was held in Myron Phillips Banquet Hall in Dover and had wine and more than 20 flavors of brandy made by the bride’s father.
The groom’s parents were hosts for a rehearsal dinner Sept. 12, 2008, in The Pro’s Table at New Philadelphia.
After a honeymoon in London, England, the couple are residing in Bedford, O.
