Wedding - Schupp-Anthony
Ashley Schupp and Matthew Anthony were married Aug. 18, 2007, in Sharon Moravian Church at Tuscarawas. Rev. Michael Foran officiated at the 5:30 p.m., double-ring ceremony.
Ashley is the daughter of Mike and Sandy Schupp of 713 Everett Valley Rd. SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio. Matthew is the son of David and Laura Anthony of 2809 State Rt. 39, New Philadelphia.
Phyllis Ronald of New Philadelphia was organist, and Ron Knapp of Pennsylvania was vocalist.
The bride wore a diamond white designer gown with a chapel-length train. The fitted bodice was adorned with Swarovski crystals and intricate beading. She carried a bouquet of peach roses, lime green mums and hypericum berries.
Kimberly Marstrell of Columbus, Ohio, friend of the bride, was maid honor. Bridesmaids were Kayla Reichman of Tuscarawas, Ohio, and Christina Fait and Katie Prysi of New Philadelphia, friends of the bride. Junior bride was Brianna Stephens of New Philadelphia.
Seth Lute of Goshen, O., friend of the groom, served as best man. Escorts were Keith Anthony of New Philadelphia, the groom’s brother, and Chris Pearch of New Philadelphia and Jeff Melnick of Hubbard, friends of the groom.
Kelsie Stephens of New Philadelphia was flower girl. Jason Crites Jr. of Gnadenhutten, Ohio, was ringbearer.
The reception was held in the New Philadelphia Holiday Inn. During the reception the couple incorporated an Anthony family tradition by serving orange-flavored milkshakes.
David and Laura Anthony, the groom’s parents, hosted a rehearsal dinner Aug. 17, 2007, at their residence.
Ashley and Matthew are employed by T&B Electric Ltd. at Delaware, Ohio. Ashley is human resource director and Matthew is an electrician.
The newlyweds met in the 6th grade at Indian Valley Middle School. Since their first meeting, they have been great friends. Even though they had a great foundation for a relationship, they never dated. After many years of playing cat and mouse they finally decided to give it a shot and go on a date in 2005. It didn’t take long for both of them to realize they should have tried this years ago. Then on Dec. 26, 2006, Matthew popped the question. The rest, they say, is history.
The couple honeymooned at The Mayan Palace in Riviera Maya at Mexico and are residing in Columbus.
