Bryant - Moody wedding
Cullman, Alabama
Caroline Baxter Bryant of Cullman and Jason Howard Moody of Cullman were wed Aug. 7, 2010, at 6 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cullman.
The bride is the daughter of Baxter B. Bryant and Glenda Niehus Bryant of Cullman. The groom is the son of Bruce Colvin Moody and Rachel Reid Moody of Cullman.
The ceremony was performed by Rev. Warren John Ruland.
The circular altar of the church was adorned with a nine-light wrought iron candelabra of pillar candles and greenery, surrounded by four large arrangements of white hydrangeas, red dahlias, and red and blush roses, and accented with stems of Queen Anne’s lace and Bells of Ireland. A matching arrangement upon a wrought iron stand was displayed in the narthex of the sanctuary. The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The bride chose to wear a designer gown of silk white satin. The formal gown was fashioned with a deep vee neckline and molded empire bodice. The gown’s focal interest was its plunging vee back followed by a row of fabric buttons to the hemline of the chapel train. The slim fitting skirt flared gently from the knee. To complete her bridal attire she chose a cathedral veil of imported French tulle. The veil was edged with a narrow band of satin ribbon and bordered with appliqués of French Alencon lace in its fullness.
A bridal spray of pearls and crystals held the stunning veil. The bride’s European bouquet in creams, whites, and ivories featured Phalaenopsis and Cymbidium orchids with English garden roses.
Matron of honor was Meredith Bryant Panell, sister of the bride, of Alabaster.
Bridesmaids were: Nicole Denea Niehus, cousin of the bride, Colorado Springs, Co.; Katherine Barton Glass, friend of bride, Trussville; Jennifer Leslie Moore, friend of bride, Fayetteville, N.C.; Jennifer Elizabeth Browning, friend of bride, Birmingham; and Kelly Pittman Borden, friend of bride, Birmingham.
The attendants’ floor length taffeta dresses in claret red featured a wrapped bodice with v-neckline and gathered skirt. The attendants carried European hand tied bouquets of red dahlias accented with green hypericum berries, surrounded in red and blush garden roses.
Vivian Grace Moody, niece of the groom, Cullman, was flower girl.
James David Nesbitt, cousin of the bride, Centerton, Ark., was ringbearer.
Jonathan Shawn Moody, brother of the groom, Cullman, was best man.
Groomsmen were Buell Edward Reid, uncle of the groom, Cullman; David Brent Panell, brother-in- law of the bride, Alabaster; Jacob Griffin Curtis, nephew of the groom, Cullman; and William Evan Curtis, nephew of the groom, Cullman.
Music was provided by Jenny Messersmith Wachter, flautist; Deborah Wheeler Barton, pianist; Frederick Christian Heinze, organist; Peter Jacob Knutson, cantor and trumpeter; and Joyah Laney Pettus, violinist.
The reception was held at Terri Pines Country Club in Cullman immediately following the ceremony.
The bride’s cake table featured a five-tiered round cake with monogrammed M atop, enhanced with buttercream scrollwork, bands of claret red ribbon and cascading red dahlias. The cake was displayed upon a black wrought iron cake stand surrounded with greenery, candles, and tea lights. The groom’s table was highlighted by a three-tiered square chocolate cake with chocolate frosting in a harlequin design, connected with red dots and decorated with strawberries and kiwi fruit. It was presented on a matching wrought iron stand with greenery and candles.
Wedding coordinator was Hazel Bauchmann Heinze.
Amanda Knighten Moody, sister-in-law of the groom, Cullman, attended the bride’s book.
Camellia Diana Elizabeth Bryant, cousin of the bride, Falkville and Stephanie Rebecca Nesbitt, cousin of the bride, Centerton, Ark. attended the programs.
After a honeymoon in Kennebunkport, Maine, the couple will reside in Cullman.
