Giuliana De Francesco and Kirby Lee Atkins were united in marriage on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at the Pleasant Valley Country Club in Little Rock, Arkansas at 8:00 p.m. in the evening.
Reverend Tom Mitchell, of Chenal Valley Baptist Church in Little Rock officiated.
Giuliana is the daughter of Paulo Cesar De Francesco and Elanie Ferreira and the granddaughter of Edina Serrano De Francesco and Luiz Carlos & Cleide Aparecida Ferreira.
All of Sao Paulo Brazil.
Kirby is the son of Chuck and Karen Atkins of De Queen.
He is the grandson of Jo and the late Charles Dean Atkins, Sr. and Charles and Elsie Jones all of De Queen.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a silk taffeta mermaid-style gown with a beautiful lace veil to match.
She carried a bouquet of tiny purple calla lilies, bundled with pearl overlay.
Serving as the bride’s maid of honor was her sister, Gabriela De Francesco.
Bridesmaids were Anita Bucur, Little Rock; Rafealla Moranhao, Pensacola Florida; Kayla Atkins Tollett, sister of the groom, Texarkana, Arkansas.
They wore purple chiffon knee-length dresses and carried single calla lily flowers.
Kyle Atkins, of Fayetteville, cousin of the groom, served as best man.
Groomsmen were Rudi Eros De Francesco, brother of the bride, Sao Paulo Brazil.
James Lundberg, Minneapolis Minnesota; Slade Cowling, Tampa Florida.
The reception was held in the ballroom at the Pleasant Valley Country Club.
Music was provide by the DJ Mario Luna.
A buffet-style dinner of the bride and groom’s favorite foods was served.
Giuliana has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where she was named the department’s top Senior Scholar.
She is continuing her studies in Thermal Water Engineering at the University of Central Florida.
Kirby is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with two bachelor’s degrees in History and Spanish.
He is continuing his studies in Latin American Studies at the University of Central Florida.
After the wedding the couple moved to Orlando, Florida to continue college studies with plans for a wedding trip over the holidays.
Several showers were held for the couple.
In De Queen, a miscellaneous shower was held in the home of Karen Atkins.
Another shower was held at Little Rock the Friday before the wedding by her bridesmaids and family members.
