RATAY - KREVEL
St. John the Baptist Church of Heilwood was the scene of the marriage on Saturday, June 7, of Mary Ann Ratay of Cleveland, Ohio, and Charles Edward Krevel of Penn Run RD 1, with the Rev. John R. Casaliggi officiating. White gladiolas were used in the church decorations.
The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ratay of Penn Run RD 1, was given in marriage by her father. She wore a full length gown of white peau de soie fashioned with a basque bodice, the bateau neckline outlined with lace appliques, the sleeves long and close fitting and the skirt bouffant. Her fingertip veil of illusion was attached to a Juliet cap trimmed in seed pearls. Her bridal bouquet was of orchids.
Mrs. Betty Lou Yelochen served as matron of honor; Mildred Ratay, Donita Luther, Betty Vanish and Sylvia Luther were bridesmaids; Joyce Ratay was junior bridesmaid and Barbara Ratay was flower girl. They wore chiffon gowns in rainbow colors. The matron of honor and flower girl carried light pink carnations and tie other attendants carried dark pink carnations.
The bridegroom, son of Mrs. Rose Krevel of Penn Run RD 1 and the late Louis Krevel, chose Robert Yelochen for his best man. Francis Slovensky, Edwin Leone, Charles Ratay Jr. and James Krevel were ushers. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Ratay wore an orchid lace dress and orchid corsage. The reception was held in the American Legion Home in Heilwood.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Krevel honeymooned for one week in the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee and North Carolina.
