MISS GOLDMAN AND MR. HASTINGS MARRIED MAY 21, 1961
In an impressive single ring ceremony at 4:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon, May 21, Miss Patricia Elizabeth Goldman became the bride of James Maurice Hastings, at the Baptist Church in Stover, with Dr. J. S. Riser, Jr., pastor, officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Goldman of Stover and the bridegroom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Hastings, of Natchez.
The vows were said before a background of greenery and entwining ivy with magnolia boughs and stock artistically arranged in princess baskets, bridal tapers of white were placed at either side.
The wedding music was presented by Mrs. Kenneth Pennington of Stover.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of bridal satin designed with a short full skirt, featuring a jewel neckline and three-quarter length sleeves. An embroidered cumberbund formed
the waistline. Her shoulder length veil was of silk illusion. She carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley centered with a yellow-throated orchid.
Miss Catherine Sabbatini of Leland, maid of honor, was wearing a day-time length dress of sky blue, designed with a full skirt. She wore a small flowered head piece with white gloves and shoes. She carried a nosegay of varigated summer flowers.
Paul Sabbatini of Leland, attended the bridegroom as best man. Ushers were Calvin Campbell and Charles Miles of Stover.
Mrs. Goldman, mother of the bride chose a dress of navy blue eyelet with white accessories. She wore a white carnation corsage.
Parents of the bride assisted by Mrs. B. L. Tate and Mrs. Otto Word entertained with a reception in the church parlor.
Presiding at the brides book was Mrs. Paul Sabhatini of Leland. The refreshment table was draped with a white lace cloth and decorated with silver candelabra holding white tapers, the three tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom was encircled with trailing smilax.
Assisting in serving was Mrs. J. W. Potts of Goodman, aunt of the bride, Miss Barbara Tate of Minter City and Miss Penny Potts of Goodman, cousins of the bride.
For traveling the bride wore a blue suit with matching accessories and the orchid from her bouquet.
After a wedding trip the couple will be at home in Leland.
