Coggins 69th anniversary
James Coggins Jr. and Ola R. Coggins of Covington will celebrate their 69th wedding anniversary on Feb. 26, 2013.
James is retired from Hercules. Ola is retired from Lithonia Lighting.
The couple has two children, Sherry Tyler of Covington and the late Jimmy Coggins of Covington. They have four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
They recently celebrated with a family dinner at LongHorn Steakhouse in Covington.

[Obituary for James Goggins: "James "Junior" Dewitt Coggins, Jr. 89 of Covington, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015. He was born in Atlanta, Ga. to the late James and Annie Coggins, Sr. Mr. Coggins was a member of Grace Baptist Church for 58 years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son James “Jimmy” Coggins, III. Mr. Coggins is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Ree Coggins of Covington; daughter and son-in-law Sherry and Carson Tyler of Conyers; grandchildren Kristy Lindsey, Jamie Coggins, Samantha Odum and Cale Coggins; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; and sister Mary Clarke of Covington. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 27th at 2:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Bone officiating. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Lawnwood Memorial Park. [Obituary for Ola Coggins: "Ola Ree Coggins, age 91,of Covington, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015. She was born on February 9, 1925, to the late Grover and Julia Ree Thompson Ellington. Ms. Coggins is preceded in death by her husband of 71 yrs, James Coggins, Jr. and her son James (Jimmy) Coggins, III. Ola was a member of the Grace Baptist Church, Ladies of Grace and The Young at Heart. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and loved her family, friends, and church. Ola is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Carson Tyler of Conyers, 4 grandchildren, Kristy Lindsey, Jamie Coggins, Samantha Odum, and Cale Coggins, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 27, 2015, from 6:00 until 8:00PM at Wheeler Funeral Home. Ms. Coggins will lie in state from 1:30 until service time at Grace Baptist Church where services will be held, Saturday, November 28, 2015, at 2:00PM with Rev. Phillip Bone officiating and interment following in the Lawnwood Memorial Park."]
