Roy and Ruby Shore

March 27th, 2008. They were the first couple ever married in the old Turner Creek Baptist Church (March 27, 1948).
They have two children, Shawn and Melody (Bobby) Plowman, two grandchildren, Amber and Autumn, one step grandchild, April, and one great grandchild, Reagan.
Roy is retired from R.J. Reynolds and Ruby retired from Food Fair Grocery Co.
The couple plans a dinner at Daniel Boone's Restaurant in Boone with family and friends the first week in April.

[Obituary for Ruby Shore: "Ruby Earlene Baity Shore, 89, took her Angel flight and has landed safely in the arms of Jesus on April 6, 2017. Born March 9, 1928 to the late Dewey and Sarah Baity the oldest of 10 children, five who preceded her; John D. and Gene Baity, Nellie Cranfill, Ethel Jolly, and Nancy Eddleman. She graduated from Courtney School in 1945 and married Roy Harding Shore in 1948, who departed in 2012. After 20 years at J.P. Hanes Ruby worked at Food Fair and retired as Assistant manager. She was a lifelong member of Turners Creek Baptist Church where she served many years singing in the choir, a quartet, Christmas events, VBS, and taught ladies Sunday School Class until her health declined. Being a Godly Woman her faith, courage, and strength led her pathway, devoting her life to God, loving and raising her family to love the Lord and each other. She took pride in family, work, and her flowers. Ruby leaves behind two children Melody (Bob) Plowman, Shawn Shore; two granddaughters Amber (Bobby) Kreul, Autumn Plowman; three great grandchildren Raegan Kreul, Caroline Higgins, and Miles two step grandchildren April (Patrick) Swyers, Brandon Dancy; step great grandson Chayse Swyers; four brothers and sisters Charles (Thelma) Baity, Stella ( R. M.) Hutchens, Harold (Linda) Baity, Frances (Wayne) Myers; many nieces and nephews. Our appreciation to all who helped and our team at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice for your loving care your Angels of Mercy allowed us to keep mother home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Pm Saturday April 8, 2017 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her Homegoing service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday April 9, 2017 at Turners Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Scott Welch, Dr. Conard Hatfield, and Roy Flynt. [Obituary for Roy Shore: "Mr. Roy Harding Shore, 90, of Fish Brandon Road passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012 at his home. He was born June 10, 1921 in Yadkin County to the late Gwyn and Sallie Miller Shore. Mr. Shore worked for several years with P.H. Hanes, Inc., B.F. Huntley Inc. and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. He was a faithful and active member of Turners Creek Baptist Church where he served the church as a Deacon, Trustee, and Bell Ringer for the service as long as his health permitted. Mr. Shore was a veteran of World War II serving with the US Army for three years and three months in Saipan and the South Pacific Theater. He was a member of Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and was grateful and proud to be chosen for the Flight of Honor Trip in May of 2010. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Nellie Pearl Shore, Ruby S. Hutchens and brothers, Leo Shore, Herman Shore, Fred Shore, and Houston Shore. Surviving are his beloved wife of 64 years, Ruby Baity Shore of the home; two children, Melody (Robert) Plowman, Shawn Kelly Shore, all of Yadkinville; granddaughters, Amber (Bobby) Kreul, Autumn (Austin) Higgins; step-grandchildren, April (Patrick) Swyers, Brandon Dancy; two great-grandchildren, Raegan and Caroline; a step-great-grandchild, Chayse; a sister, Lena Allgood, Yadkinville and a brother, Jack (Alma) Shore, Clemmons. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Turners Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Roy Flynt, Rev. Scott Welch, and Rev. Randy Johnson. He will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and Chaplain Frank Wooten, officiating.
