50th wedding anniversary celebrated
Kenneth and Betty Hayes of East Bend, NC celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary of March 7, 2008, with a celebration dinner at Golden Corral in Winston-Salem, NC.
The hosts for the celebration were their children: Mike and Janice, Marvin and Debby and Johnny and Tonja, all of East Bend, NC.
The couple has six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hayes works in heavy equipment and Mrs. Hayes is a home-maker.

[Obituary of Kenneth Hayes: "Kenneth Marvin Hayes, 72, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013. Mr. Hayes was born March 18, 1940 in Yadkin County to Lee and Eva Willard Hayes. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Hayes. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Betty Lou Stanley Hayes; three sons, Michael Hayes, Marvin Hayes, and Johnny (Tonja) Hayes; grandchildren, Timothy, Brandy, William, and Jason Hayes, Michelle Boyd, Chris Hayes, and honorary grandson Chris Boyd; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Franklin Hayes; and one half-sister, Melanie. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Gentry Funeral Service Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. Robert Childress officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75231.
