ST. LOUIS - The wedding of Brenda Lou Thompson and Aaron Thomas Gleason was conducted at 4:30 p.m. May 5, 2001, at Mount Zion United Methodist Church by the Rev. Scott Lohse. Scripture was read by Renee Gerdes of Bartelso, Ill., and Monica Goebel of Breese, Ill., friends of the bride.
The bride is the daughter of Linda J. Thompson of Jackson and the late Glen H. Thompson.
The bridegroom is the son of Tom and Carol Gleason of Sikeston.
Musician Vaughn Keim of Creve Coeur and vocalist Chad Borders of Cape Girardeau provided music for the occasion. Blake Thompson of Jackson, nephew of the bride and Justin Baros of El Campo, nephew of the bridegroom, were bell ringers.
Escorted by her brothers, Brad Thompson and Brian Thompson of Jackson, the bride wore an ivory Italian satin ballgown featuring a halter top bodice with an open back and basque waist. The gown and cathedral train were trimmed with silver bugle beads, ivory pearls, sequins and alencon lace appliques.
Matron of honor was Darla Hemmann of Chesterfield, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Nicole Martin of Manchester, friend of the bride, Suzanne Baros of El Campo, Texas, sister of the bridegroom, Amy Thompson of Jackson, sister-in-law of the bride and Kristi Gilmore of O'Fallon and Amber Hampton of Lewiston, Ill., friends of the bride. Katelyn Baros of El Campo, niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl.
Tom Gleason attended his son as best man. Groomsmen were Todd Metz of Poplar Bluff, Joe Thomas of Palmyra, John Paul Brotherton of Sikeston, John Stahlschmidt of Cathedral City, Calif., and Shay Borders of Cape Girardeau, all friends of the bridegroom. Michael Denman and William Denman of Wheaton, Ill., cousins of the bride, were ring bearers.
Ushers were Jeremy Cranfield of Jackson, Miss., Ryan Florek of Belleville, Ill., Steve Ledbetter of St. Louis, Shane Lowrimore of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Andy Robinson of Millstadt, all friends of the bridegroom.
Paula Thompson of Jackson, sister-in-law of the bride, was guest book attendant and program attendant was James Thompson of Jackson, nephew of the bride.
A dinner and dance reception was held at the Creve Coeur Country Club.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bridegroom's parents on the eve of the wedding at the Missouri Bluffs Golf Club.
A 1992 graduate of Jackson High School, the new Mrs. Gleason graduated in 1997 with a bachelor of science degree from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. In 1998, she graduated with a doctor of pharmacy degree and is an assistant professor of pharmacy practice at the college.
The bridegroom graduated in 1993 from Sikeston High School and attended the University of Southern Mississippi. He is a golf professional and tournament coordinator for the Missouri Bluffs Golf Club.
Following a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, the couple is residing in Chesterfield.
