John & Joan Kotzuk
John and Joan Kotzuk of Upper St. Clair will celebrate their 60th anniversary on July 29, 2004.
John, born and raised in the Burgettstown area, and Joan, originally from Manchester, England, met and married while John was serving in the U.S. Army 8th Air Force during World War II.
They have lived in the house they built in Upper St. Clair since 1953. John worked for many years for the Burroughs Corporation.
After the youngest child was in school, Joan worked in the Upper St. Clair school system. All five of their children earned college degrees at Pennsylvania universities.
Since retiring, John and Joan have traveled in the United States, England, Canada, and Ireland, often visiting children or Joan's family in England.
They enjoy attending Elderhostel classes together.
John wrote for a number of years for the Upper St. Clair Today magazine.
Joan designs and creates fisherman knit sweaters and other knitted items.
They are long-time members of St. Agatha's Church (now Holy Child Parish) in Bridgeville.
All of their children and grandchildren wish them a happy 60th anniversary and many more.

[Obituary of Joan Kotzuk - JOAN PATRICIA (CLEGG) KOTZUK - Age 91, of Upper St. Clair, on January 15, 2016. Beloved wife for 71 years of John Kotzuk; devoted mother of Janice (Charlie) Auth, Karen (Robert) Ryder, Kathryn (Dennis) Desmond, Joyce Dawes and John Kotzuk; loving grandmother of Naomi, Ilona, Sasha, Evan and Elisabeth; and great-grandmother of two. Joan was born in Manchester, England. She and John met during WWII while he was serving with the U.S. Air Force. Joan was a lifelong member of Holy Child Parish, she worked for many years in the Upper St. Clair school system and was active in the USC Senior Citizens Group. She enjoyed music and dancing and was an avid knitter, crafter, seamstress and embroiderer. She even received a lifetime achievement award for her knitting, where a fashion show was held to display her work. Family and friends received on Sunday, January 17, 2016, from 5-9 p.m. at the WARCHOL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville.
