Young anniversary

John and Mildred (Jarvis) Young, of Carnegie, will celebrate their 65th anniversary later this month.
A family celebration is planned in honor of the union that took place on June 30, 1941 at Carnegie United Presbyterian Church.
The Youngs are long-time residents of the Carnegie area and active members of the Carnegie United Methodist Church.
The couple has two children: the Rev. Sandra Jordan (the Rev. Robert) and the late Johnny Young.
The Youngs also have three granddaughters: Amy, Emily and Virginia, and eight great-grandchildren.

[Obituary of John Young - JOHN S. "JACK" YOUNG - Age 92, of Collier Twp., on Sunday, January 12, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Mildred I. Jarvis Young; loving father of Rev. Sandra (Rev. Robert) Jordan and the late Johnny Young; son of the late John and Hazel Young; brother of Margaret Rix of Colorado and the late Joan Anderson; also survived by three granddaughters, Amy (Joseph) Solomon, Emily (Gary) Toulouse, and Virginia (Edward) Heinzl; and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Young was a proud U.S. Army World War II veteran, having served with the 705th T.D. Battalion at the Battle of the Bulge. He worked for many years as a foreman for Bundy Industries in Crescent Twp. He was a 60 year member of Lafayette Lodge #652 F & AM. He was an active member of Carnegie United Methodist Church and past president and lifetime member of the Pittsburgh District United Methodist Men.
