Wedding vows were exchanged by Karen Evelyn Phipps and Scott Andrew Hamilton May 5, 2001 at the Holiday Inn Express. A reception followed with music by Sir Charles deejay.
Parents of the bride are Ken and Patty Surber of 2572 Mary Ave. The bridegroom's parents are Bruce and Judy Hamilton of 1051 14th Ave.
The bride's mother made her dress. It was an empire organza gown with sheer overlay. The Tierra was hand beaded by the bride and her mother. She carried a silk bouquet of mixed flowers.
Erin Page was maid of honor. The bride's sister Dawn Ahles was bridesmaid and her sister Becky Ahles presided at the guest book. The bridesmaid wore mint street-length dresses styled similar to the bride's. Other attendants' dresses were lavender.
Tommy Hudson was best man. Usher was the bride's father.
Child attendants were Rea Lee Hosko and the bridegroom's nephew Jordon Jacobs.
The bride was given in marriage by her little brother Jonathan Ahles. Jon Flint, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiated.
The bride attended Reed High in Reno, Nev., and Kofa High School. The bridegroom graduated from Kofa High School.
After a trip to San Diego, newlyweds are living at 1711 Avenue A.
