Ernest and Marge Carpenter, former residents of Woodland (California) for 41 years, celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on Nov. 7, 2005.
They were married in the home of a relative in Gulfport, Miss. just prior to Ernest's departure for Europe in World War II.
They have five children, 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
They have resided in Milbank, S.D. for the past 20 years.
