Tiptons celebrate 57th anniversary
Ray and Ruth (Huskey) Tipton of Maryville will celebrate their 57th wedding anniversary Saturday by spending a quiet day with their family.
The couple were married Nov. 13, 1947, in a double ceremony with Mr. Tipton's brother, B.J. Tipton, and Elizabeth Thompson, at the home of Glen and Carrie Tipton in the Prospect Community.
The Rev. W.F. Hall officiated.
Their family includes two sons, Freddie Ray and wife Amy Tipton of Ringgold, Ga., and Robert and Susan Tipton of Maryville.
They have three grandchildren, Samuel and wife Misty of Ringgold, Ga., Heather and Austin Tipton of Maryville.
They have one great-grandchild, Jada McKay Tipton of Ringgold, Ga.
Mr. Tipton is retired as self-employed owner of Tipton's Service Center.
Mrs. Tipton is retired from Blount Memorial Hospital and Asbury Acres Retirement Center.
They are members of Broadway Baptist Church.
