Thomas and Frances (Irwin) Starritt of Maryville will celebrate their 56th wedding anniversary Sept. 5.
The couple were married Sept. 5, 1948 in Chatsworth, Ga.
J.W. Dooly officiated.
Their family includes children Charles Starritt of Sevierville and Nancy Starritt, Bill and Linda Starritt, Stanley and Edna Nelson, and Tim and Suzann Starritt, all of Maryville.
They have nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
Mr. Starritt is retired from ALCOA Inc.
Mrs. Starritt is a housewife.
They are members of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
They enjoy camping and their dog Boomer.
