Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred (Helen Clare McTavish) Maloney of Townsend will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary beginning at noon July 12 at Heritage Park in Townsend.
The couple were married July 12, 1943 at Annunciation, Green Bay, Wis. Father Kiernan officiated.
Their family includes children Mike Maloney of Burr Ridge, Ill., Mary Ellen Walsh of Geneva, Ill., Pat Maloney of Morton Grove, Ill., Kathy Clarke of Brookfield, Conn., John Maloney of Lake Villa, Ill., Billy Maloney of Glenview, Ill., Betsy Allen of Windsor, Calif., and Dan Maloney of Brookfield, Conn. They have 24 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. Maloney is retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Glenview, Ill.
Mrs. Maloney is retired from Illinois Bell in Chicago.
They attend St. Francis Catholic Church in Townsend.
They enjoy playing bridge and German rummy and their Smoky Mountain cabin.
Mrs. Maloney is also involved in many quilt guilds.
