John and Irene (Gedridge) Butler of Maryville will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a brunch July 20 with their family in Knoxville. They request no gifts.
The couple were married July 17, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Their family includes son Dr. Kenneth Kant and daughter-in-law Elaine Kant of Maryville. They have four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Butler is retired from Ford Motor Company in Cleveland, Ohio, where he also owned a ticket printing business. He was in the United States Marine Corps and served in the South Pacific in World War II. Mrs. Butler is retired from the ticket printing business in Cleveland, Ohio, and also from a yarn and craft shop in Fort Myers, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Butler moved to Florida after retirement and moved to Maryville 23 years ago.
They are members of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
