Ownbys will celebrate 50th anniversary

Alvin and Dorothy Ownby of Townsend will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 4 with family and friends.

The couple were married Sept. 4, 1953 at Mrs. Ownby's family home with Elder Shade Tipton officiating.

Mr. Ownby is retired from the electrical department, city of Maryville.

Mrs. Ownby is retired from Crum & Blazer Insurance Agency.
