Ms. Lisa Clapp Phelps of Greensboro and Mr. Randolph Bray Phelps Jr. of Raleigh announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Bray Phelps, to Jonathan Hunter Dawson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Barry Dawson (Pam) of Whitsett.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. John Clapp (Gladys) of Greensboro, Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Phelps Sr. (Beth) of Apex and the late Ms. Phyllis Goodnough.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Dawson (Helen) of Whitsett and Mr. and Mrs. Herb Belvin (Faye) also of Whitsett.
Miss Phelps and Mr. Dawson are 2006 graduates of Eastern Guilford High School and are currently juniors at North Carolina State University.
A 2010 wedding is planned.
