Austin Wyse Leager and Richard Lewis Andrews Jr. were married February 21, 2009, at five o'clock in the afternoon at Christ Episcopal Church in Raleigh.
The Reverend Nancy Allison officiated.
A reception followed at the North Carolina Museum of History.
The bride is the daughter of Kay Porter Leager and Andrew Norman Leager of Raleigh, and granddaughter of the late Reverend and Mrs. Burrell Alexander Porter of Castle Hayne and of Mrs. Samuel Richardson Leager and the late Mr. Leager of Raleigh.
The groom is the son of Elizabeth Jernigan Andrews of Raleigh and Richard Lewis Andrews of Tarboro.
He is the grandson of Mrs. Roberts Harrell Jernigan Jr. and the late Mr. Jernigan of Ahoskie and Dr. Bob Barcus Andrews and the late Mrs. Andrews of Lumberton.
The maid of honor was Ellie Howell Sharpe of Charlotte.
Other bridal attendants were Elizabeth Judd Andrews of Charlotte, Margaret Marshall Andrews of Philadelphia, sisters of the groom; Kathleen Elizabeth Andrews of Chapel Hill, Mary Katherine Crane and Lacy Bondurant Southerland, both of Winston-Salem; Brooke McLean Patterson of Atlanta, and Anna Keith West of Raleigh.
The flower girls were Anna Camellia Joyce and Elizabeth Mollie Joyce, cousins of the bride.
The groom's father served as best man.
Additional groomsmen were Thomas Jordan Blount, Randolph Wilson Crow, Travis Henry Leager, brother of the bride; William Bess Purvis, Charles Vaughan Robinson, all of Raleigh; George Gatlin Jenkins of Tarboro, John Clark Purvis of Hobgood, and Jason Lee Schwartz, brother-in-law of the groom, of Philadelphia.
The ringer bearer was John Clark Purvis Jr.
Scripture readers were Jennings McGowan Lathan and Claire Hunter Spruill, both of Wilmington.
Program attendants were Emlyn Colmant Dunn and Lauren Nicole Rutherford, both of Raleigh.
The bride graduated from North Carolina State University and is employed by the North Carolina Bankers Association.
The groom received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is currently pursuing a master's degree in ecological restoration at North Carolina State University.
After a honeymoon trip to Spain, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
