Miss Emily Pippen Sinclair and Mr. Benjamin Wayne Riggan were married on Saturday, October 13, 2007, at four o'clock in the afternoon at Eastern Shore Chapel Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The Reverend Julia S. Ashby officiated the ceremony and was assisted by The Reverend Mark S. Delcuze of Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church in Richfield, Connecticut. A garden reception followed the ceremony at the home of the bride. The bride, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Carter Sinclair, Jr. of Virginia Beach, Virginia, was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. William Charles Overman, Jr. and the late Mr. Overman, and Mr. and Mrs. William Carter Sinclair, all of Virginia Beach. Emily is a graduate of Cox High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from East Carolina University. She is currently employed by Wendell Elementary School in Wendell. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Habbard Riggan, III of Louisburg. He is the grandson of Mrs. Marie Coppedge Riggan of Louisburg and the late Mr. William Habbard Riggan, Jr. of Petersburg, Virginia, and Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Wayne Manning of Williamston. Ben is a graduate of Louisburg High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from East Carolina University. He is currently employed with Inland American Winston Hotels Inc. in Raleigh. Maid of honor was Miss Lindsay Abada Kassir of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Bridesmaids were Miss Robyn Allyn Riggan of Louisburg, sister of the groom; Miss Lauren Elizabeth Bush Brenneman and Miss Courtney Elise Gane of Frederick, Maryland; and Miss Anne Reid Evans, Miss Amanda Leigh Roberts, and Miss Elizabeth Ransom Witt, all of Virginia Beach, Virginia. The groom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Cameron Wayne Barham, Mr. Chad Michael Carter, and Mr. Brian Stewart Wood of Raleigh; Mr. Sean Patrick Bowers and Mr. Jacob William Parrish of Greenville; and Mr. John Carter Sinclair of Richmond, Virginia, brother of the bride. Mr. Andrew Christopher Sinclair of Orlando, Florida, cousin of the bride, and Miss Erica Lauren Savage of Asheville, cousin of the groom were readers at the wedding. The couple honeymooned in St. Lucia, West Indies and now reside in Raleigh and will be relocating to Breckenridge, Colorado.
