Melissa Ann Poe of Raleigh and Preston Anthony Parks of Cary were married March 29, 2008 at half past four o' clock in St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church, Pittsboro. Reverend Doctor Dennis Boone, uncle of the bride officiated in the Christian ceremony. A dinner-dance reception followed the ceremony hosted by the bride's parents at The Shady Wagon Farm, New Hill. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Michael Poe of Siler City. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Boone of Siler City, and Mr. and Mrs. William Poe of Staley. She is a graduate of Meredith College and is employed by the Wake County Public School System as a Kindergarten Teacher. The groom is the son of Mrs. Robin Gerringer Parks of Pittsboro and the late Thomas Fredrick Parks. He is the grandson of Mrs. Ruby Lombardy of Pittsboro and Mrs. Frances Parks of Pittsboro. Preston is a graduate of Guilford Technical Community College and is employed by The Town of Cary as a Firefighter. Scripture Reader was Reverend Tim Strider. Music was provided by vocalists Mr. and Mrs. Chad Gaines; guitarist David Betini; Raleigh Symphony String Quartet; and organist Ms. Jo Snelling. After a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia the couple will reside in Cary.
