Catherine Grace McLaurin and Andrew Brent White were married at five o'clock on April 12, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church in Rockingham. The Reverend Dwight Williams officiated. The ceremony was followed by a reception at The Fair Barn in Pinehurst, hosted by the parents of the bride. Catherine is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Bertram McLaurin of Rockingham. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Aubrey Overby of Goldsboro, Mrs. Louisa Porter Presler of Laurinburg, and Mr. Jack Lloyd Presler of Montreat. Brent is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Craig White of Henderson. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Garland Elam and the late Mr. and Mrs. Beverly Gordon White of Warrenton. The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. Anna Hope McLaurin of Rockingham, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridal attendants were Cara Scott White, sister of the groom, Allison Leigh Ricks, Erica Noel Surgent and Marianne Teague Wood, all of Raleigh; and Melissa Lynn Francis of Charlotte. The best man was Charles Craig White of Henderson, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Charles Craig White II, brother of the groom of Henderson; Eugene Bertram McLaurin III, brother of the bride of Charlotte; David Gayle Bomar of Cary; William Alexander Drake of Oxford; Wilson Smith Hoyle III of Durham; and Brian Charles Schmitz of Chicago, Illinois. Program attendants were Maria Carmella Francis of Charlotte and Neely Brooke Sullivan of Rockingham. Guest book attendants were Dustin Harvey Melton of Rockingham and Dorothy Anne Shaw of Raleigh. The bride graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is employed as a sales representative with Metro Magazine in Raleigh. She was presented by the Terpsichorean Club at the North Carolina Debutante Ball in Raleigh in 2002. The groom graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned a second degree from East Carolina University. He is employed as a supervisor with Alliance Building and Development in Raleigh. The parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner on Friday evening at the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst. After a honeymoon trip to the west coast, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
