5 Sara Marie Schafstedde and John Cornelison Morisey III, both of Raleigh, were married January 19, 2008 at six o'clock in the evening at Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh. The Reverend David James McBriar, Order of Friar Minors, Dr. Roger Vernon Elliott, and Mr. Ray Moody Seigler, junior officiated the ceremony. A reception was held at North Ridge Country Club immediately following the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Frank Gerhard Schafstedde of Raleigh and the late Mr. Frank Gerhard Schafstedde. She is the granddaughter of the late Colonel and Mrs. Benjamin Franklin Lenhardt of Greenville, South Carolina, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank John Schafstedde of Richmond, Virginia. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Cornelison Morisey, junior of Raleigh. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Edward Bailes and the late Mr. Frank Wilson Dayvault, all of Lenoir, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Cornelison Morisey of Clinton. The bride was escorted by two of her brothers-in-law, James Daniel Guptill of Charlotte and Jeffrey Brisbin Howden of Asheville. Mollie Schafstedde Waddill of Raleigh served as her sister's matron of honor, and Jennifer Rebecca Bostic, also of Raleigh, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Elizabeth Ann Bilcheck, Joanna Morisey Hauser, sister of the groom, Helen Trawick Morisey, sister-in-law of the groom, and Suzanne Shoaf Ward, all of Raleigh; Mary Virginia Comly and Kristie Schafstedde Guptill, sister of the bride, both of Charlotte; Nancy Schafstedde Howden, sister of the bride, of Asheville; Jennifer Edgerton Juneau of Denver, Colorado; Anna Rallis Kouba and Allison Butera Riepe, both of Washington, DC; and Ivy Peed Pointer of Chapel Hill. John Cornelison Morisey, junior, father of the groom, and Franklin Bailes Morisey, brother of the groom, served as best men. Groomsmen included Timothy Vance Barley of Dublin, California; James Franklin Barwick, junior, of Akron, Ohio; Paul Andrew Boland of Macon, Georgia; Justin Bradley Hauser, brother-in-law of the groom, Stephen Patrick Porterfield, John Charles Sanders, James Paul Sposato, Michael Henry Tanner, Mark Douglas VanOsdell, and Edmund Law Waddill III, brother-in-law of the bride, all of Raleigh; Durant Gallup Vick, junior of Williamsburg, Virginia; David Jung-Hsin Lin of Greensboro; and McLean Thompson Wilson of Memphis, Tennessee. Greeters were Katherine Shore Duke of Raleigh, Meredith Jane Williams of New York, New York, and Erin Jones Zelch of Matthews. Nathan Lenhardt Guptill, and Samuel Bennett Guptill, both of Charlotte, and Edmund Law Waddill IV of Raleigh, nephews of the bride, were greeters as well. The bride and groom are graduates of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The bride is employed with Principal Financial Group and the groom is employed with Community Properties. After a wedding trip to the British Virgin Islands, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
