Mr. and Mrs. Darden anniversary
Perry and Betty Darden of Raleigh celebrated their November 8, 2007 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner hosted by their children on November 4, 2007 at Angus Barn in Raleigh.
Their children are sons, Michael Darden and wife Teresa of Fuquay-Varina, Chris Darden and wife Rose of Garner, and Greg Darden and wife Shelley of Apex; and daughter, Sandra Darden of Raleigh.
Also to share in their special occasion were their three grandchildren, Andrew, Haley and Riley.

[Obituary of Betty Darden: "Betty Williams Darden from Cary, North Carolina, United States - Betty Williams Darden passed on Sunday, October 23, 2016 after declining health over the past year. She was born on April 24, 1936 in Davidson County to Albert and Kathleen Williams. She attended and graduated from the Davidson Co. School System. She went on to Watts Hospital School of Nursing to become a Registered Nurse. Her career in Nursing was at Rex Hospital and Dorothea Dix Hospital. Later in her career she worked in clinical research for UNC Hospital's Psychology Department. She valued her patients and their families as she did her own. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Raleigh and the Lillie Atkins Joy Sunday School class. She always volunteered her time and talents to various Missions Forces. She is survived by her devoted, loving and caring husband, Joseph Perry Darden, her wonderful children, daughter Sandra K. Darden - Raleigh, NC, sons Michael (Teresa) – Fuquay Varina, NC, Christopher (Rose)- Garner, NC, Gregory (Shelley)-Apex, NC. Her true blessings were her three grandchildren, Andrew, Haley and Riley. She loved them so much and always cared about their well-being and needs. She has one sister, Jean Lax (Bob) - SC, a brother, Jerry Williams (Fara)-Thomasville, NC, one niece and six nephews. She is also survived by the extended Darden family of Clinton, NC. She always wanted to do for others, sometimes forgetting herself; always a friendly smile for all. Visitation will be held at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home at 200 SE Maynard Rd in Cary at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 with a Memorial Service following at 12:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church and/or Hospice."]
[Obituary of Perry Darden: "Joseph Perry Darden, 83, died on August 12, 2019, surrounded by his family at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh. Perry was born on July 26, 1936 to the late Lorenzo Perry and Jesse Bell Darden in Halls Township in Clinton, NC. After leaving Clinton in 1956, Perry was employed as a nurse at Dorothea Dix Hospital for 27 years, before going to the State Prison for 10 years, where his focus was in mental health. Nursing brought Perry to meet his beloved wife Betty Sue Williams at Watts hospital, and they were married in 1957. He enjoyed his yard, flowers, camping, and watching hummingbirds from his kitchen window. He was active in Cub Scouts and Webelos for many years. He was also a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for several years. Perry was preceded in death by his wife of almost 60 years, Betty Sue Williams Darden; sisters, Celestine Pollock and Dorothy Darden; and brother Paul Darden. He is survived by his sons, Michael (Teresa), Christopher (Rose), and Gregory (Shelley); his daughter Sandra K. Darden; grandchildren, Andrew (Taylor), Haley, and Riley; and a great-grandson, Tucker. He is also survived by his sister Margaret Oates. A time of visitation will be held from 11:00am – 12:00pm on Thursday, August 15 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd. Cary, NC 27511, with a funeral service immediately following. The services will conclude with burial at Raleigh Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the physicians and nurses of Rex Hospital and Transitions LifeCare, for all of the care and compassion they provided. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, or Transitions LifeCare.
