Edwards - Adams

Ashlee Bryan Adams and Ashley Hillman Edwards of Wake Forest were married Saturday, October 13, 2007, at five o'clock in the afternoon at Wake Forest Baptist Church in Wake Forest. Dr. Thomas A. Jackson and Reverend James E. Dyer officiated at the double ring ceremony. A reception followed at the home of the bride's parents. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Marion Adams of Wake Forest. She is the granddaughter of Mr. Harold Russell Washington of Creedmoor, the late Mrs. Thelma Gooch Washington, and the late Mrs. Virginia Aiken Washington, and Mr. James Baxter Adams of Wake Forest and the late Mrs. Lovie Dail Adams. The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Luther Monore Edwards, Jr. of Raleigh. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Matthew McCauley of Raleigh, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Luther Monroe Edwards of Big Stone Gap, Virginia. The bride was presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. Shana Marie Phelan, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kristi Hunsucker Adams, sister-in-law of the bride, Denise Elaine Cobb, Lauren Ashley Crilly, Amy Warren Dowdle, and Jennifer Lancaster Jones. Clayton Smith Dowdle was the flower girl. Matthew Allen Williams, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were James Marion Adams, Jr., brother of the bride, William Crawford Fickes, Robert Avery Hall, Jeffrey Paul Michael, and Henry Lee Poole, Jr. Ushers were Phillip Chandler Holt and John Forrest Teer. Benjamin McCauley Smith, nephew of the groom, was junior groomsman. James Marion Adams III, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer. Melanie Walden Smith, sister of the groom, and Marty Woodlief Weathers served as register attendants. The bride is a graduate of Meredith College and Watts School of Nursing. She is a Registered Nurse at Wake Medical Center. The bride was presented at The Debutante Ball of North Carolina in 1995. The groom is a graduate of North Carolina State University and is employed as a project manager by Precision Walls Inc. On Friday evening, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at the Wake County Shrine Club. Following the dinner, friends and family of the bride hosted a dance. After a honeymoon trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the couple will reside in Wake Forest.
