Sarah Goodwin Franklin and Dan Richardson Thomason III of Raleigh were married June 10, 2006, at five-thirty in the evening at the Gardens of Fearrington. Reverend Douglas E. Remer officiated. A reception was held at the Fearrington Barn after the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. E. Ruffin Franklin of Raleigh. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John R. Peters of Chicago, Illinois, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Earl R. Franklin of Raleigh.
Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Dan Richardson Thomason Jr. of Pinehurst. He is the grandson of Mr. James E. Gallagher of Clinton and the late Mrs. Doris L. Gallagher, and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dan R. Thomason of Fayetteville.
Reeves Emilin Franklin of Washington, D.C., sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Meaghan Canada Duparc of Raleigh; Kristen Marie Franklin of Chevy Chase, Maryland, sister-in-law of the bride; Jenny Sayers Kelly of Raleigh; Jessica Ivy Peacock of Raleigh; Holly Elizabeth Pearsall of Greensboro; Emily Brannon Reid of Bethesda, Maryland; Heather Rose Scott of Raleigh; and Laura Beth Whitley of Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Dan Richardson Thomason Jr. served as his son's best man. The groomsmen were Thomas Matthew Bland of Cary; Scott Ruffin Franklin of Chevy Chase, Maryland, brother of the bride; Taylor Peters Franklin of Charleston, South Carolina, brother of the bride; Rodney Jesse Huckaby of Charlotte; William Tindall Roberts of Raleigh; Thomas Challey Strader of Greensboro; Stuart Gallagher Thomason of Pinehurst, brother of the groom; and Henry Harper Whitley III of Hilton Head, South Carolina.
The bride graduated from North Carolina State University, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, and recently received a Master of Arts degree in Reading Education from North Carolina State University.
The groom graduated from North Carolina State University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. He is employed with First Citizen's Investor Services.
After a honeymoon trip to Petite Saint Vincent and Saint Lucia, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
