Mary Farrar Betts and Hilton Wescott Graham II of Richmond, Virginia, were married January 28, 2006, at six o'clock in the evening at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Rocky Mount. The Reverenced Robert Scott White officiated. A reception was held at the home of the bride.The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Alexander Betts junior of Rocky Mount. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Prescott Lenneau Martin of Tarboro, and Mrs. Thomas Alexander Betts of Whitakers and the late Mr. Betts.Parents of the groom are Mrs. Elizabeth Buxton Graham and Mr. Norruth Dilley Graham Jr. of Richmond, Virginia, the late Honorable and Mrs. Samuel Roland Buxton Jr. of Newport News, Virginia, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Norruth Dilley Graham of Kansas City, Missouri.Kathryn Cotten Betts of Raleigh, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Laurin Merrick Armfield and Erin Smith Jewett of Richmond, Virginia; Cornelia Shuford Bowen and Katherine Harrison Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia; Mary Scott McKeough Durrett of Evanston, Illinois; Anne Robertson Parker Starke of Beijing, China; Catherine Mebane Sturtevant of Greenville, South Carolina; Kimberly Tulloss Smith of Ashville; and Michaux Lane Waughtel of Elizabeth City. Mary Marshall Martin of Jacksonville, Florida, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.Norruth Dilley Graham Jr. served as his son's best man. The groomsmen were Henry Chase Hager of Arlington, Virginia; Prescott Lenneau Martin III of Louisville, Kentucky, cousin of the bride; Patrick Joseph O'Connor of Raleigh; and Michael Clinton Hanky, Ashley Montgomery Gillenwater, Ryan Thomas Kane, William Lowndes Peple IV, William Francis Shumadine III, and Charles Goldsmith Thalhimer III of Richmond, Virginia. George Allen Ives IV of Rocky Mount was the crucifer.Elizabeth James Hall of Richmond, Virginia, and Katherine Winstead Luttrell of Chapel Hill were readers. Jane Gregory Ives of Rocky Mount, and Kathryn Dianne Jefferson and Sara Yorke Montgomery of Richmond were program attendants.The bride graduated from The University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee. She is a sales associate with Coplon's.The groom graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and The Sorenson Institute for Political Leadership at The University of Virginia. He is a political consultant with Graham Consulting.After a honeymoon trip to the British Virgin Islands, the couple will live in Richmond, Virginia.
